Risks
There are severe risks that come with any type of catheterization and these can become dangerous if not taken care of in a timely manner. The most common risk for balloon catheter patients is the risk of infection. This type of catheter is often left in place for a long period of time, which lends itself to being more prone to infection. Changing the catheter and ensuring cleanliness is the best way to reduce the risk of infection.
